Free Sex Redux
“Free sex?”
“Yeah, at Kane Hall.”
“Gross.”
Free sex is a harder sell than I thought it would be, even when I tried to explain that there would be lots of people there. Oh well. It was still a pretty good turn out and a really awesome night.
To those of you who thought we were trying to give “the sex talk,” I’m just letting you know that’s not what happened. In fact, if you didn’t know what sex was or how babies are made, Free Sex was totally not for you. Instead of giving “the talk,” Pastor Mark Driscoll came to lecture about how sex relates to our culture and to our lives, and then did some Q&A.
Brutally honest, totally open, Pastor Mark spoke through the history of dating in culture and then shared his own personal life, from his first exposure to porn, his first dating and sexual experiences and how he met Jesus right in the middle of it all. The texting Q&A covered topics like masturbation, how to stop having sex once you’re a Christian, how to confess sexual sin and how to help those who have been molested or raped.
If you missed the lecture or live too far away to make it, here are a few clips from some of Mark’s sermons that covered a lot of the main points:
